Fish For Change is a refocus on

WHO, HOW, AND WHY
WE ARE FLY-FISHING

Vision: Fish for Change uses the art of fly fishing as a catalyst for positive change, shaping young people
into global citizens through immersive experiences in nature.

Mission: Our mission is to create positive change through fly fishing by uniting diverse young people in
pristine natural settings. Through our programs, students engage in education, cultural exchange,
conservation, and community-building, all while forming a deeper bond with nature and each
other.

Core Values: Empathy, Curiosity, Passion, Confidence

Fish for Change offers one-week summer fly fishing expeditions to Honduras, the Bahamas,
Mexico, and Costa Rica, bringing together students from diverse backgrounds who share a
passion for the outdoors. These immersive experiences include conservation work with local
groups, scavenger hunts, homestays, and guide apprenticeships—fostering hands-on learning and
real connections.

Through evening writing prompts, group discussions, and interactive challenges, students build
critical thinking, empathy, and leadership skills. Our ultimate goal is to inspire a new generation
of environmentally conscious, confident young anglers ready to make a meaningful impact on
the world.

Pillars

Connection: Students from around the world connect with one another in new environments. Hometown realities are challenged with collective thoughts from different backgrounds. Language barriers are torn down through shared passions. Strangers turn into friends who turn into family.

Education: Fish for Change provides immersive outdoor education in environmental conservation,
leadership, outdoor recreation, and fly fishing. Students learn from guides,
conservationists, and each other, fostering a profound understanding of nature and human
connection.

Conservation: Fly fishing ignites a commitment to conservation. Students engage deeply with local
environmental challenges, collaborating with local organizations to protect fragile
ecosystems—creating a lasting impact on both the environment and their sense of
responsibility.

Exploration: Fly fishing serves as our lens for exploration. It challenges us to experience new environments and become curious about the world around us. In addition to fly fishing, students have a chance to enjoy other forms of adventure tourism pertaining to the area. We explore the world around us as well as within.
Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion - DEI
At Fish for Change, we believe that creating positive change begins with embracing the richness of diversity, fostering equity, and building an inclusive community. Our mission to inspire the next generation of leaders through environmental stewardship and cultural exchange is strengthened by the unique perspectives, experiences, and voices of all individuals.

Through our programming, partnerships, and daily actions, we strive to break down barriers, challenge inequities, and promote understanding across cultures. Our organization is dedicated to continuous learning and collaboration to uphold these principles and create lasting, equitable change in our communities and beyond.
