Beckie Brown

CHAIR

Beckie is passionate about living a healthy life and sharing the fly fishing lifestyle with family, friends and her clients. Her education focused on Adventure Tourism Business Management and Adventure Guiding.

Beckie owned her own fly fishing guide outfit in Fernie, BC Canada where she  guided and called home for over 17 years. She created woman's retreats, youth fly fishing schools, learn to fly fish programs, and taught various fly tying, river and lake fishing courses.

Fly fishing is Beckie’s passion, hobby, and her work. The ability to share the sport of fly fishing is what fuels her soul and she is excited to be part of the Fish For Change Team.

Rebecca Brown

Vice Chair

Coming from a fly fishing family, Rebecca’s love for the outdoors has been part of her life since she was little. She spent her childhood exploring the backcountry of Colorado.

Rebecca is the glue that holds many diverse teams together. She is the Reservations Manager, Logistical Coordinator and Bookkeeper for multiple fly fishing companies in multiple countries.

Her customer service and attention to logistical detailing is rare in addition Rebecca has extensive  experience with non profits and Fish for Change couldn’t be luckier to have her as part of the team.

Jim Brownlie

Secretary

Picture
Jim Brownlie is Texas born and Colorado raised.  He is  a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, undergrad and law. He is in the upstream oil and natural gas business when not melding into the waters of our world in search of fish.

"JB" has been fishing since he could hold a rod, but has only been flyfishing for 50 years and it's his personal commitment to not only leave the beautiful places he visits to fly fish better than I arrived, but to proactively plan to make a significant impact in every place he travels to.

In the words of Brownie in Beyond the Horizon, “Everyone is fishing for something.”  I endeavor to make a personal commitment to not only leave the beautiful places I visit to fly fish better than I arrived, but to proactively plan to make a significant impact in every place I travel to.  This a slow route to fish conservation and changing the world, a walkabout ever progressing but never reaching the destination.  Some of us original fly fisher conservationists are on the back end of our journey, and I have to say looking back, it’s been a good start.  That’s where Fish For Change comes in.  As an industry, we spend massive resources traveling the world with a fly rod.  Imagine a whole generation of fly fishers of every walk of life and diverging backgrounds, thinking about conservation and how they can help the beautiful destinations they visit before they ever set foot on a trail or board a plane.  Of course, the destination remains unreachable, just as perfection remains unachievable.  But the pace of the journey will hasten immeasurably.  We walked, they will jog.  When they are my age they will teach the young fly fishers to run.  And it will all be a better place in the thoughtful hands of Fish For Change.

Matt Nawrocki

Treasurer

If the world was full people like Matt Nawrocki we would be closer to solving all it’s issues.

Matt is a Michigan native who was called to the Mountains of Colorado after College to Fish, Hunt, Ski, Rock, Ice, and Mountain Climb (And Golf, and Fly Planes, and Ride Bikes, etc.).

Matt began his salt water fly fishing adventures in Guanaja, Bay Islands, Honduras. As soon as Matt returned home, He decided Guanaja needed a Hospital and therefore turned to his philanthropic side of life and Food for the Poor to fund a hospital on the Island.

Matt is CEO/President of Vectors, Inc., a company he founded in 1999. Vectors, Inc. was recognized by Inc.com as one of the fastest growing companies in the nation and was a Colorado Company to Watch in 2016 Winner.

Matt has funded schools and homes all over the world, is a major donor to many charities and serves on other boards making him a huge asset to Fish For Change.

Matt is excited to join the Board for Fish for Change. He believes the things we do today to educate not only our current generation but also our next generation about sustainability and conservation.

Jeff Runnfeldt

Jeff Runnfeldt wears his heart on his sleeve. He is an avid angler and conservationist.

Jeff’s has been a supporter of Fish For Change since it was an idea on a flats boat. Jeff supports the locals schools in Guanaja and enables many children to receive education that may otherwise not have.

His ability to reach into communities and help people where needed is inspiring. The relationships that he builds, keeps and supports teaches lessons that Fish For Change is listening too.

Jeff is the kind of leader that listens and then gives you the best advice from all his years of experience as a very well respected finance and investment manager.

Fish For Change couldn’t be more honored to have “JR” helping achieve its mission.
