Volunteer Position
JOB DESCRIPTION
Fish for Change is fueled off of our volunteer alumni base. Students who have grown up joining us in summer programs and have naturally transitioned into positions of leadership within the organization. Trip Leaders have a super power we do not take lightly - to create an inclusive, educational space and set the tone for the week. Trip Leaders are the liaison between the students, fishery, and community.
There are two parts to this job - the work leading into programs and running the programs themselves.
Yearly Expectations
Assist in establishing course work
Correspond with students to prepare them for their trips
Work with Director on initiatives
Connect your network with F4C
Actively develop skills needed to be a strong educator
Program Expectations
Meet and fly with students to location
Open stream of communication with parents
Prepare students and coach them on the fishery
Manage daily cirriculum
Liaison between community and student
Lead evening discussions
Collect photos and writing
Keep social up to date throughout course of the week
Mentor and friend to the student body
REQUIREMENTS
21 years and UP
Alumni of the program location being applied for
CPR / First Aid Certified
Knowledge of fishery, community, and environment
Experienced fly fisherman
Passion in education and working with high school age groups
Interest in pursing a career in the outdoor space
Application due by December 1st
Phone Interviews before December 15th
Accepted by January 1st
