Fish for Change strives to ensure programs are not cost prohibitive.
The Financial Aid Process has been established in order to grant money to students on a need basis. We look to provide this opportunity to anyone with the drive and passion to be part of one of our enriching summer programs. We are thankful to the generous organizations that make this opportunity possible.

Financial Aid Process
1) Prepare a cover letter. 500 words minimum.
Tell us about yourself! Why do you want to participate in this program? What do you hope to get out of it? What are you currently involved in that could help prepare you for this experience? Why do you think you’re a good fit? Anything about your family's financial situation we should know about?
2) Gather forms
Your parents' or guardians' most recent 1040 tax form.
3) Fill out the online application below.
Upload your cover letter and parents tax info.
4) Interview with the F4C team.
If your application is accepted our team will reach out to schedule an admissions interview. Following the online interview our team will determine if you will be granted financial aid for F4C summer programs.
5) Plan your trip.
Make sure you have a valid passport that doesn’t expire within 6 months.
Book your flights.
Practice your cast.
Resource our team for info.
Join us on the adventure of a lifetime!
6) The Fish for Change Team will follow up after the program with expectations for the following deliverables:
Photo album from the trip.
Essay summarizing experience or a specific story, feeling, moment.
Presentation in local classroom, club, etc.
Fish for Change home project that includes volunteer work on behalf of community outreach or conservation.
*Collaborate with F4C team on your personal creativity for these follow up projects*

What is the timeline of this process?
Applications open in September and are due on the last day of February.
If you qualify, our team will follow up with a zoom interview.
Financial Aid will be officially granted by the beginning of March.
How do I know if I qualify for financial aid?
Financial Aid grants are dependent upon money raised and students that apply. Doesn’t hurt to apply and see what happens.
How else can I financially support my trip?
Students fund their trips in many ways if financial aid doesn’t happen to be enough. You can always reach out to our team and we will brainstorm ways to raise money together.
How much will you support a trip?
Financial Aid varies. Your trip can be supported all the way from $500 to a full ride scholarship.
